Rare Charles Oudin, Paris, faceted rock crystal chatelaine watch and key in 18k yellow gold (not tested) with original fitted case, circa 1850's. Case diameter measures 30mm. White enamel dial marked "CH. OUDIN, PALAIS-ROYAL 52" in red with gold filigree hands, black Roman numerals and red outer Arabic 5 minute divisions. Key wind, key set mechanical movement. Measures 5" long. Gross weight 56.3 grams. Hinged closure on back has 2 visible hallmarks, but does not appear to be gold. Upper crystal mount is also hallmarked. Running. ***Note: A similar cased example made for Prince Ferdinand d'Orleans, circa 1840, is pictured on the 'History' page of the Charles Oudin company's website, under 'Famous Clients'.***
