Bead front sight and notch rear sight on octagonal barrel, with barrel signed on top flat "C. H. HOULLIER-BLANCHARD Btg A Paris". Barrel and cylinder with English high polished blue, balance of gun with strong evidence of case color. Right Side of barrel mounted with rammer. Clever latch system on underside for affixing barrel assembly to frame. Matching serial numbers observed on right side of barrel, cylinder, and right side of frame underneath cylinder. Spurred trigger guard. Long hammer with checkered thumbpiece with partial nipple shield. Grip with relief carved sidepanels with checkered pistol grip and slightly flared butt with trap for caps. Accompanied by notes on this gun and a letter from Middlesbrough Public Library, Museum, and Art Gallery dated 1961 and referencing the acquisition of a French revolver. CONDITION: Good. Barrel and cylinder retain as much as half of the bluing with an even patina with light spots of oxidation; rammer essentially oxidized with plenty of blue visible on sides. Frame retains traces of case colors, mostly visible in protected areas such as under the trigger guard. Grips are very good with sharp checkering and well fit. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with visible rifling and frosting throughout. EW
