Lot consists of (A) Whitney Navy Second Model single action revolver. Gun looks to be s second model, second type made early 1860s. Top of the barrel is marked "E.WHITNEY / N.HAVEN". No inspector markings or cartouches present. Serial number "6003" found on the barrel, loading lever, cylinder pin, cylinder and both grip panels. Full octagon barrel with pin front sight and v-notch frame rear. Most areas have worn to a an even gray patina. Brass trigger guard. Oil finished walnut grips. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with most areas having formed a gray patina. Trigger guard has some tarnish to it. Grips have minor handling marks and scratches. Bore has some pitting mid way through. Very good rifling retained. Hammer and cylinder are tight. Good timing and lockup. Mechanically fine, but the wingnut holding the cylinder pin is is loose. There is some light pitting on the nipples. (B) Whitney Pocket Model single action revolver. Gun looks to be a second model, third type made early 1860s. Top of the barrel is marked "E.WHITNEY/N.HAVEN". Matching serials on the barrel, cylinder, cylinder pin, loading lever and grips. Full octagon barrel with pin front sight and v-notch frame rear. Most areas have worn to a an even gray patina. Brass trigger guard. Oil finished walnut grips. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish having formed an even gray patina throughout. Brass trigger guard is tarnished. Grips have handling marks and scratches. Areas of pitting in the bore with good overall rifling Tight hammer and cylinder. Gun is still in time, and mechanically functional, but the wingnut holding the cylinder pin is is loose.
