Circa 1930. A game shotgun with 28" blued steel barrels. Dovetail barrels built with fixed chokes (L) Full & (R) Modified, ejectors, and tapered machined game rib with rib extension and a round steel front bead. The case colored side plate boxlock action has cross bolt fastener, side clips, double triggers and has a checkered auto slide safe. Exterior side plates of action are engraved "A. FRANCOTTE MAKER & PATENTEE LIEGE BELGIUM" with foliate scroll engraving on plates and rest of action body. Top lever is blacked and engraved with checkered thumbpiece on both sides. Walnut stock with round knob grip has fine line checkering and is finished with an orange rubber recoil pad with leather patch on butt of pad. The splinter forend with matching checkering has been fit with an Anson style push button release. Gun is housed in a vintage Leg O' Mutton case. CONDITION: Fair. Barrels have a light coating of oxidation throughout and usage marks at muzzle. Action needs work. Stock is cracked through wrist with handling and storage marks. Forend wood is good and iron metal shows wear. CP
