Model 1849 Pocket manufactured by Colt at the London factory in 1855. Top of barrel is stamped with Colt's London address. British crown over "V" and crown over "GP" proofs are present on the left side of the barrel, as well as around the cylinder. Cylinder is engraved with stagecoach holdup scene. Left side of frame is stamped "COLT'S / PATENT". Matching numbers include the frame, trigger guard, backstrap, cylinder, wedge, barrel, and loading lever. Complete with a sheet of notes from the consignor indicating the markings and proofs on this revolver. CONDITION: Metal components retain a pleasing patina overall, with areas of age related discoloration. Barrel shows some light surface oxidation and some areas of cleaned pitting. Bright bore, showing several areas of oxidation and retaining well defined rifling throughout. Cylinder nipple safeties show heavy wear. Grips show scattered impressions and handling marks, with some small losses on the bottom of the left panel. MLW
