Moore's patent 7-shot single action revolver, serial number 6336. Manufactured from 1861-1863, these revolvers were short lived due to Smith & Wesson patent infringement lawsuit, which Moore's Patent Firearms Company lost. Although they were not manufactured for a long amount of time, they were very popular especially with Union troops during the American Civil War. 6" octagonal barrel chambered in .32 Rimfire with 7 shot cylinder. Frame and recoil shield are factory engraved with New York style scrolls with a panel scene featuring a retriever on a hill on left side of frame. Starbursts engraved on butt and bottom of trigger guard. Complete with factory 1 piece walnut grips. CONDITON: Excellent for its age, with a vast majority of the original bluing remaining on barrel assembly with the exception of scattered handling marks and age related pitting (mostly near muzzle). Cylinder is in matching condition with a heavy dragline. Both sides of frame beneath cylinder and trigger guard assembly retain about 65% of their original silver plating with balance turned to a mustard yellow patina with areas of tarnish on high edges. Grips are good, with finish loss and handling marks but are strong. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is overall bright with abrasion toward muzzle and crisp rifling. Overall a better than average condition example with higher grade than normally encountered engraving. TON
