Half moon front sight, V notch rear sight integral with recoil shield. No top strap and scoop flutes. Matching 4235 assembly numbers observed on frame, rear of cylinder, and barrel assembly; serial number 14727 on butt. Left side of barrel with "HOPKINS & ALLEN MANUFACTURING CO. NORWICH, CONN. U.S.A.", top with "MERWIN HULBERT & Co. New York, U.S.A. Pat. Jan. 24. Apr. 21. Dec. 15: 74. Aug. 3. 75. July 11. 76. April. 17. 77. Pat's Mar. 6. 77". Slide down loading gate. Period pearl grips with right scale relief carved with Mexican snake and eagle. CONDITION: Good, with several spots of oxidation throughout, with some more significant oxidation on right side of frame behind cylinder. Cylinder has distinct turn line. Grips are period but has been enhanced with the rubbing of what appears to be coffee grounds to add some color. Action works appropriately, but little suction is retained in the system. Bore is very good with visible rifling, some frosting, and a few small pits. This is a good example of a nice revolver. EW
