Lot consists of (A) Whitney Pocket Model single action percussion revolver. Looks to be a second model first type, made early 1860s. Top of the barrel is marked "E.WHITNEY/N.HAVEN" in front of the frame. Matching serials on the barrel, loading lever, cylinder pin and grips. Full rifled, octagon barrel with the front sight pin worn down. V-notch frame rear sight. Original finish worn to a heavy gray patina. Brass trigger guard. Oil finished wood grips. Wingnut cylinder pin screw is absent. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish. Some areas of cleaned pitting are observed. Trigger guard shows some signs of cleaning. Mainspring is being held in place by a piece of plastic. Will need work to be correct. Frame screws are stripped. Grips have a few handling marks and scratches. Bore has pitting and frosting. Good overall rifling retained. Gun works, but needs work to function properly. (B) Whitney Pocket Model single action percussion revolver. Looks to be a second model first type made early 1860s. Full rifled, octagon barrel with pin front sight and v-notch frame rear sight. Original finish worn to an even gray patina. Brass trigger guard. Oil finished walnut grips. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish with a nice light gray patina having formed. Trigger guard has some tarnish. Grips have a few handling marks and scratches. Pitting in the bore with good overall riffing. Tight hammer and cylinder. Gun is in time. Mechanically operable. JWA
