Beautifully engraved and German silver mounted percussion half stock target rifle made by Samuel C. Miller of New Haven, Connecticut circa 1850. Blued full octagon target weight rifled barrel with brass false muzzle and bullet starter. Barrel has globe front sight and custom rear adjustable notch sight made by "H. Leriemondie" and a percussion patent breech ignition system. Scroll engraved back-action percussion lock with single set trigger. Walnut checkered half stock with figured grain, cheekpiece, and piano type finish. Stock has German silver furniture including unique three lid patchbox and beautifully engraved toeplate and trigger guard. Cheekpiece has German silver inlay of a Resting Buck. Comes original brass-tipped hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Gun has aged brown patina on barrel with light handling marks. Stock has 90% of original piano style varnish with some small nicks and dings. Excellent bore with great mechanics. A super rifle. DLM
