Left side of slide with 3 line 2 block patent information and address information with intercepting "REMINGTON / U M C" in circle. Right side with "MODEL OF 1911 / U.S. ARMY CALIBER .45". Barrel simple marked with a "P" on hood oriented to be read with barrel pointing straight up. Frame with "UNITED STATE PROPERTY" on left side of dust cover, "E.C." inspector mark with appropriate distension around stamp and "(Eagle) / E1" proof above the checkered magazine release, and a partially obscured eagle head on left side of trigger guard. Right side of frame with "NO 21623" just behind slide stop hole, "30" on right side of trigger guard. Truncated diamond walnut grips. Early checkered slide release with relief cut underneath, checkered safety, spurred hammer, and magazine release, long milled trigger, short 1911 grip safety, flat smooth mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Two tone magazine with dual pinned base and "A" stamped on lip for American Pin Co. CONDITION: Metal has formed an even light brown/grey patina throughout with some bluing on small parts. There is one area of pitting and discoloration (blood pitting?) near muzzle. Grips are worn smooth. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with heavily softened rifling and some frosting. This is good example of a hard used gun. EW
