Gents vintage yellow gold filled Breitling Chronograph wristwatch, Ref. 178. Circa early 1940's. Case diameter measures 36mm. Matte silvered dial with two engine-turned subsidiary dials, blued steel hands and registers in blue, red and black. Dial appears to be original, and has visible spotting and stains. Case and lugs are worn with pitting and losses to caseback. Case numbers appear to be 544540, 178. Inner caseback marked "PLAQUE OR G GARANTI 10 ANS". Crown has raised Breitling "B" logo. Venus calibre 170, manual-wind mechanical movement marked "17 Seventeen Jewels, Unadjusted" and "170" with Venus "5-point star" mark. Watch has a genuine Breitling stitched leather replacement strap with Breitling tang/buckle installed, and also includes a modern yellow Breitling box, polishing cloth, vintage strap and service receipts. Overall, the watch is in very good condition with signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Watch has been serviced, and is in good running order with all chronograph functions tested and working properly.
