Remington New Model Army single action percussion revolver. Made 1864. Top of the barrel is marked "PATENTED SEPT, 14. 1858/E.REMINGTON & SONS, ILION.NEW YORK, U.S.A./NEW-MODEL.". Faint inspector cartouche on the bottom of the left grip panel. Various inspector stamps throughout. Matching serials on the bottom of the barrel and the left side of the butt. Octagon barrel with blade front sight and v-notch frame rear. Factory finish turning to an even brown patina. Oil finished walnut grips. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish, with most areas forming an even brown patina. Grips have some dings and scratches. Bore is clean overall, with some minor pitting near the muzzle. Tight hammer and cylinder. Nipples are well formed, showing little signs of dry firing. Mechanically fine. JWA
