Circa 1895. A model 2E with 26" blued steel barrels with flat top machined rib, rib extension, ejectors, and steel front bead sight. Rib extension with lock up for third fastener. Case color hardened sidelock action with checkered top lever, push button safety, and double triggers. Gun is built with an auto safe. Action and lock plates lightly engraved with scrolls and read "L.C. SMITH.". Nicely figured European stock with fully sharp checkered semi pistol grip with horn grip cap and butt stock with decorative L.C. Smith butt plate. Splinter forend with matched checkering, ebony inset at tip, and checkered push latch forearm release. CONDITION: Good. Barrels with lots of remaining blue. Barrels with evidence of corrosion and possible shortening. Action and triggers are sound. Ejectors stick. Stock with handling marks and gun benefits from a prior a restock. Forend good with handling marks from use. CP
