Colt Model 1883 side by side hammerless shotgun made by Colt Firearms from 1883 to 1895. Damascus steel barrels with matted rib and bead front sight with holes drilled and plugged for rear sight (possibly factory?) with extractors. Case hardened boxlock action with line engraving, double triggers, and automatic safety. Walnut checkered round knob pistol grip stock with Colt buttplate and Silver stock shield. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with ebony inlay and latch release. CONDITION: Metal turning a plum brown with receiver turning a silvery patina. Wood shows traces of original varnish with usage marks and dings. Buttplate slightly proud of stock from storage in warm area. Shootable bores with good mechanics. DLM
