A & W double guard 1882 model; 6" frame made for the Fort Wayne Line. The lantern has the correct base with a faint A & W patent stamp. Last date is 1882. Nicely marked "P. F. W & C. R. R." on the lid reflector but shows significant perforation around the embossed letters. Frame has overall pitting but is straight and tight. Spectacular 6" flashed red globe is embossed "PENNA CO." with nice lettering relief and no significant rim chipping. Overall condition is fair with significant pitting and some perforation, globe is excellent. Scale rating 5.
