1896 vintage Colt Frontier Six Shooter single action revolver, serial number 168406. 7 - 1/2" round barrel in .44-40 Winchester Centerfire with single line Colt Hartford, CT barrel address, blade front sight, and V-frame notch rear. Left side of barrel is roll-die stamped "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER". 2-piece factory brown gutta percha checkered grips featuring a Rampant Colt on either side in an oval. Complete with factory letter confirming configuration as well as shipment to Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Mfg Company London Agency in London England December 31, 1896. CONDITION: Very good, with bright original bluing remaining in protected areas with the balance turning a dull grey patina with age-related storage marks throughout. Frame retains traces of bright case colors but is overall a dull-grey patina with storage marks throughout. Grips fit well and show no major signs of distress. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is overall bright with sharp rifling and moderate abrasion toward muzzle. TON
