Traditional configuration of the No. 2 Army with 6" barrel, German silver front sight, and notch rear sight. Smooth rosewood 2 piece grips with retaining by single screw. Roy Jinks letter indicates shipment from factory in 1867, with delivery to J.W. Storrs, New York, as part of a shipment of 625 units with blue finish, rosewood grips, and 6" barrel. Gun was subsequently silver plated and engraved in a flowing vine and scroll pattern on a stippled ground, In the Nimschke style, with near complete coverage on flats. Front strap, hammer, and some barrel flats not engraved. While not signed, the work is of good quality. CONDITION: Very good, with silver somewhat tarnished from age; easily cleaned should the new owner desire. Some minor staining and spotting from age. Rosewood grips are very good with some handling marks from free of cracks and chips. Mechanically fine, bore is dark with some light pitting throughout but visible rifling. EMW
