Correct 5" barrel with half-moon front sight, and U-notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide marked with 3-line, 2-block patent and address information with intercepting "REMINGTON / UMC" in circle. Right side of slide marked "MODEL OF 1911 / U.S. ARMY CALIBER .45". "E" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel chamber stamped "P". Barrel link pin correctly staked in place. Left side of frame marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY"; "E.E.C." and "(Eagle Head) / "E28". Left side of trigger guard marked "E". Right side of frame marked "NO 5121" behind slide pin; "44" marked on right side trigger guard. Bottom of mainspring housing marked "E". Large double diamond checkered walnut grips. Checkered spurred hammer, thick tab safety, checkered slide release with milled relief cut, checkered magazine release, long smooth milled trigger, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. CONDITION: Excellent overall with approximately 85-90% original blue finish remaining, showing moderate wear to high edges. Action operates flawlessly and is tight and crisp. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Grips are excellent showing modest wear with crisp checkering. Complete with original magazine. Overall, an excellent and most desirable first year production martially marked UMC Model 1911. MKS
