Deluxe turn of the 20th century vintage Marlin Model 1897 takedown lever action rifle, serial number A6049. 26" half octagon to round barrel chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle with full length 24" magazine tube, brass bead front sight, and rifle rear sight. 2-piece checkered pistol grip deluxe select walnut stock and forearm complete with rifle forearm cap and crescent rifle buttplate. CONDITION: Barrel and magazine tube are excellent plus, with nearly all of their original bluing remaining with light handling marks. Color case hardened frame has faded to a mottled dull gray patina. Frame was aftermarket drilled and tapped for a side-mounted rear peep sight on left side. Stock and forearm are excellent with minor handling marks throughout and checkering sharp and no major signs of distress. Action cycles properly and is tight. Bore is overall bright with crisp rifling with modest abrasion throughout and barrel bulge near muzzle. TON
