Winchester Model 61 slide action rifle. Standard takedown model, made 1940. Winchester proofs on the barrel and frame. Matching serials on the trigger group and frame. Left side of the barrel is marked "-WINCHESTER/PROOF STEEL-MODEL 61-WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK-.22 S.L.OR L.R.-". Round, steel barrel with blade front sight and u-notch leaf style rear. Factory blued finish on the barrel. Receiver has been lightly reblued. Non-grooved, non-drilled receiver. Oil finished wood stock with a ribbed forearm. Checkered metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its finishes with light wear. Wood has a few dings and scratches. Clean bore with very good rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
