Winchester Model 61 slide action rifle. Standard takedown model, made 1960. Winchester proofs on the barrel and frame. Matching serials on the trigger group and frame. Left side of the barrel is marked "WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK/MADE IN U.S.A"-MODEL 61/.22 S.L.OR L.R.". Round steel barrel with a broken off blade front sight and u-notch rear sight. Rear sight is bent to the right side. Factory blued finish on the barrel. Receiver has been lightly reblued. Grooved non drilled receiver. Oil finished wood stock with a ribbed forearm. Incorrect plastic butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its finishes with light wear. There are a few splotches of cleaned surface rust on the right side of the barrel near the muzzle. Wood has a few dings and scratches. Very good overall bore with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
