Massive Colt Model 1883 side by side hammerless shotgun made by Colt Firearms, New Haven, Connecticut between 1883 and 1895. Damascus steel barrels with matted rib marked "COLT'S P T F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A." with single front bead and extractors. Case hardened line engraved boxlock action with double triggers and automatic safety. Walnut half-round checkered pistol grip stock with Colt logo hard rubber buttplate. Walnut checkered splinter forend with ebony inlay and latch release. CONDITION: 90% original Damascus finish remaining with some light pits near breech. 90% case colors with screws having been turned. 90% original varnish with light usage dings and scratches with small repaired chip behind left side of action. Good bores and mechanics. Great condition for a gun this old. DLM
