Serrated slope front sight that has been recontoured to more resemble a half moon and smoothened, Square notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with "REMINGTON RAND INC / SYRACUSE. N.Y. U.S.A.". Barrel with "HS" on right lug, "P" proof on left lug. Left side of frame with "FJA" proof under serrated slide release, P near checkered magazine release. Right side of frame with crossed cannon cartouche (slightly double stamped), "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", serial number, and "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY". Checkered narrow hammer, stamped trigger, and safety. Long 1911A1 grip safety, arched knurled mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Grips are Keyes fibre grips with reinforcing rings. Full blue magazine with L on lip for Little. Housed in a contemporary kraft box with Remington Rand ordnance number ink stamped on top. CONDITION: Good. A layer of lacquer appears to have been added over the slide, resulting in a different coloration from frame. Handling marks throughout, and some silvering to high edges and reciprocating areas. Grips are very good and devoid of cracks. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with rifling somewhat softened and frosting in grooves. Box is fine as contemporary. EW
