1921 vintage Colt Frontier Six Shooter single action revolver, serial number 337659. 7 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .44-40 WCF with earlier SAA front sight and single line Colt Hartford, CT barrel address. 2 piece replacement checkered walnut grips. Accompanied by a factory letter indicating shipment as a blue .44-40 7 - 1/2" gun with wood grips sent to J.A. Johnston, 529 Smithfield Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, C/O George P. riggs, in a shipment of 1 sent February 23rd, 1921. CONDITION: Very good as partially rehabilitated with replacement barrel from an earlier single action that is overall turning to a blue-brown patina with scattered handling marks throughout. Frame retains most of its reapplied color case hardening. Replacement cylinder retains a vast majority of its original blue. Hammer is a replacement. Grips are strong with no major signs of distress and checkering sharp. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is lightly frosted with crisp rifling. Would make an excellent shooter or display piece. TON
