Colt 1877 Lightning double action revolver. Made 1877. "COLT. D.A. 38" marked on the left side of the barrel with the 2 line company address on the top of the barrel. Patent dates on the left side of the frame, in front of the circled Rampant Colt pony. Matching serials on the frame, trigger guard, and butt. Round, steel barrel with half moon front sight and v-notch rear. Factory blued finish worn to an even gray patina. Factory brown hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its its original finish with general wear and gray patina. Grips have wear to the checkering and embellishments. Bore is lightly frosted with no real pitting. Good overall rifling. Hammer is tight. Cylinder has some movement when cocked. Gun is still in time and mechanically operable. JWA
