Right side of slide with "MODEL OF 1911 / U.S. ARMY CALIBER 45". "E" at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Checkered spurred hammer, early checkered slide stop with relief mill cut, checkered safety, checkered magazine release, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Walnut truncated diamond walnut grips. 2 tone magazine with dual pinned base, marked "R" on lip for Risdon manufacture. CONDITION: Fine, retaining the vast majority of the factory bluing with some minor marks from handling and storage throughout appropriate to a 110 year old gun. There is appropriate burnishing around with proofs and serial number from when the dies were applied after the bluing. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and some light frosting at edges of grooves. A little cold blue appears to have been used to touch up the stirrup cut. A nice example. EW
