1858 vintage Colt 1849 Pocket single action percussion revolver, serial number 149425. 4" octagon barrel in .31 caliber with 2-line Colt New York barrel address, cone front sight, and hammer notch rear. Matching serial numbers observed on rammer, wedge, barrel, cylinder arbor, cylinder, frame, trigger guard, and butt. Silver plated brass trigger guard and backstrap. Cylinder is roll die engraved with typically seen Stagecoach cylinder scene. 1-piece plain walnut grips. Accompanying this gun is a Colt Hartford case with red velvet interior, powder flask with American Eagle motif, bullet mold, nipple wrench/screwdriver combination tool, and loose lead ball projectiles. CONDITION: Excellent plus, with nearly all of the original bluing remaining with handling marks and high edge wear throughout. Cylinder is excellent with cylinder scene complete and legible, safety pins worn but intact, dragline, and light age-related freckling throughout. Frame is excellent with bright original case colors. Trigger guard and backstrap retain nearly all of their original silver plating with light freckling throughout. Grips fit well with no major signs of distress. Action is crisp. Bore is dark with visible rifling and heavy abrasion from use with corrosive black powder. Case is very good with handling marks throughout and replacement piece of wood in escutcheon area. TON
