1902 vintage Colt Bisley single action revolver, serial number 226113. 4 - 3/4" round barrel chambered in .32 Colt with 2 line Colt Hartford, CT address, blade front sight, and frame notch rear. 2 piece checkered gutta percha grips featuring a Rampant Colt in an oval on either side. This gun is photographed on pages 138 and 139 of "A Study of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver" by Graham, Kopec, and Moore. Factory letter indicates shipment as a blue 4 - 3/4" .32 to Honeyman Hardware Company, Portland, Oregon, for Whiton Hardware Company, in a shipment of 1 sent June 5th, 1902. CONDITION: Good, with traces of original bluing remaining on barrel and on backstrap assembly near hammer. Balance is turned a mottled dove gray patina with scattered age related pitting throughout. Frame shows faint traces of original case colors in extremely protected areas. Grips are proud near front strap but are overall well fitting and are worn, especially on right grip panel. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand and is tight. Relationship between hammer and sear is slightly rough, especially on half cock notch. Bore is frosted with light pitting throughout and well defined rifling. TON
