Manufactured 1914. Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Left side with 2 line 2 block patent and address information with serif font, last patent date Feb 14 1911, Rampant Colt at rear of slide, uncircled. Right side of slide with "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY" in serif font. "H" stamped on top of firing pin retaining plate channel. 4th type barrel stamped "P / H" oriented to read with chamber up; "J" marked horizontally on left side of lug, "5" in front of lug. Barrel hood has been polished. "H", "5" and "(Square)" inspector proofs on top of frame bridle near disconnector hole. Left side of dust cover with serifed "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Penfield inspection mark above checkered magazine release. Right side of slide with serial number. Checkered spurred hammer, safety, magazine release, and relief mill cut slide stop. 1911 short grip safety, flat smooth mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Walnut truncated diamond grips. 2 tone dual pinned base magazine with lanyard loop. Housed in a modern kraft box with "ONE COLT CAL 45ACP / SN# 124097 / STD. ORD. REV. 5463-2 / COLT PT. F. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of Colt's blue finish with some handling and storage marks throughout. Some minor age related spots of oxidation, mostly visible in stirrup cut. Some silvering to high edges consistent with holster use and to reciprocating areas. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with strong rifling and some frosting and softness throughout. Box is fine as contemporary. EW
