1896 vintage Colt Single Action Army revolver, serial number 167560. 5 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .41 Colt with single line barrel address with blade front sight and frame V notch rear. 2 piece factory checkered gutta percha grips featuring a Rampant Colt on either side in an oval. Accompanied by a factory letter indicating shipment as a blue .41 Colt 5 - 1/2" gun sent to Colt's Patent Firearms Company, San Francisco Agency, San Francisco, California, in a shipment of 1 sent October 31st, 1896. CONDITON: Good, with visible factory bluing remaining in protected areas especially on barrel, ejector rod housing, and top of backstrap near hammer with the balance turned to a dove gray patina with scattered handling marks. Grips are very good with wear from handling but are strong with no signs of major distress. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is frosted with moderate abrasion throughout and good rifling. Overall a very nice antique Colt SAA. TON
