Colt Model 1878 double action revolver made by Colt Firearms Hartford, Connecticut in 1887. 7 1/2" round factory nickel plated barrel with sheared blade front sight with single line "Colt's P.T.F.A. MFG Hartford CT. U.S.A." address. Factory nickel plated receiver with with nickel plated ejector rod and 6 shot fluted nickel plated cylinder with blued hammer and trigger. Black hard rubber checkered two piece grips with oval rampant Colt scene and lanyard loop on butt. Factory letter indicates shipment as a nickel 7 - 1/2" .44-40 to Pribyl Brothers, Chicago, Illinois, in a shipment of 2 sent April 19th, 1887. CONDITION: 70% original nickel plating with some flaking and discoloration. 10% fading trigger and hammer blue. Good grips with good checkering. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
