Framed and matted handwritten letter from Pat Garrett. Letter measures: 8 - 1/4" x 11". Overall measurement: 26" x 22 - 1/2". Collage consists of the letter, Western Union Telegraph envelope addressed to Mrs. P.F. Garrett, Cody and a brass plaque explaining the details of the letter. Sherriff Pat Garrett wrote the letter dated March 1st, 1896 on stationary from the Rio Grande Hotel. In the letter Garrett talks about a clue in the murder of Col. Fountain and feels he will be successful and thus receive the $12,000.00 award. Garrett also voices concern that he has not heard from his wife and asks her to take good care of Annie. EX: DR. Marohn collection. CONDITION: Overall framed condition is very good. The letter shows creases from where it was folded. CLG
