Beginning in 1855, William Malcom made a name for himself producing some of the finest rifle scopes of the era. Available circa 1885 to 1940. This blued 18" short tube scope is numbered near eyepiece 6484. Power is unmarked, but was offered in 3X through 16X. It appears to be a 6X with fine crosshairs. Complete with screw in caps and original mounts, with rear adjustable. CONDITION: Very good retaining nearly all of the factory blued finish, with some light wear and thinning, in addition to a few freckles. Optics fairly clear but slightly yellowed. Would be a great period scope to accompany a late nineteenth century or early twentieth century sporting rifle! BAS
