Frame manufactured 1944. Serrated ramp front sight (serrations filed smooth and sight slightly recountoured), square notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information with intercepting pony. Right side of slide with "M1911 A1 U.S. ARMY" with "A1" crudely stamped out. Unmarked barrel with turned barrel and heavily machined chamber. Frame with "G.H.D." proof near checkered magazine release, right side with crossed cannon cartouche, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" mark, serial number, and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY". Serrated magazine release. Checkered thumb safety and spur hammer. Long 1911A1 grip safety, arched knurled mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Keyes fibre grips. Full blue .38 Super magazine with "COLT // SUPER / .38 AUTO" on baseplate. Marked on left side of dust cover with an illegible mark. Housed in a contemporary kraft box. CONDITION: Poor. Gun has been refinished over pitting. Numerous handling marks and silveirng throughout. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with strong rifling. Box is fine as new. EW
