Half moon front sight, square notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information, with pony at rear of slide; right side of slide with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S.ARMY" with serif font. "H" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel marked with "P / H" over hood, oriented to be read with muzzle pointing up, front of lug marked with "5". Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", Penfield proof. Right side with serial number. "H" and "b" proofs on top of frame bridle near disconnector hole. Small parts include relief milled checkered slide release, relief cut left side only safety, checkered magazine release, long smooth trigger, checkered spurred hammer, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Truncated diamond walnut grips. Two tone magazine with dual pinned base. Kraft box with ink stamped "ONE COLT CAL 45ACP / SN# / STD. ORD. REV. 5463-2 / COLT PT. F. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". CONDITION: Very good, retaining much of the Colt bluing with silvering to high edges appropriate to continued holster usage. Some scattered patina and areas of old now inactive pitting, particularly to top of slide and left side of frame. Barrel hood has been polished and blown out the proofs somewhat. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and some minor frosting towards mouth. Box is fine as contemporary. EW
