National Postal Meter M1 Carbine semi automatic rifle. Made early 1944. No import mark found. "I.B.M. CORP." marked barrel. "P" mark firing proof on the barrel, in front of the band. Unmarked band with "UN" marked sling swivel. "N" marked front sight with a National Postal Meter rear sight. "UN" marked bolt and slide. National Postal Meter marked trigger group and Quality Hardware marked hammer. Stock is marked "Trimble/TN" on the inside of the sling channel. Hand guard is unmarked. Original parkerized finish on the metal components. Bolt is blued. Stock looks to be possibly unissued, with a light oil finish. Includes a National Postal Meter "UN" marked 15 round magazine. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its original finish, with light finish wear. Wood is excellent, with a few handling marks. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Muzzle erosion gauges at a 2+. Mechanically fine. Magazine has light finish wear. JWA
