Underwood M1 Carbine semi automatic rifle. Made early 1943. No import mark found. Underwood marked barrel dated "4-43", over a flaming ordnance bomb. "P" firing proof in front of the band. Underwood, "U" marked front and rear sights. Unmarked band, trigger group, and bolt. "U" marked Underwood slide and hammer. Nice Ordnance proofs on the slide, trigger group, and receiver heel. "PU" marked Pedersen Brothers stock, while the inside of the handguard is marked "Pedersen U". Boxed "UEF/GHD" inspectors cartouche on the left side of the stock. "Circle P' firing proof on the bottom of the wrist. Original parkerized finish on the metal components. Wood has a light oil finish. Includes a 15 round, "R-O" marked Rockola magazine. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its original finish with some light finish wear. Wood has a few minor dings and scratches. Bore has a few areas of light frosting, but retains crisp rifling. Muzzle erosion gauges at a 0+. Mechanically fine. Magazine has light finish wear. JWA
