M-1 Carbine built by National Postal Meter between November 1943 and June 1944. Interesting Parkerized finished barrel with threaded muzzle for unknown attachment. Barrel marked under slide "SA 54" (rebuild date) with "P" on barrel. Correct markings on parts for National Postal Meter manufacture except slide which is Inland mark. Gun has been arsenal rebuilt with flip safety with "M" marked clip release and bayonet lug front sling swivel. "Pot Belly" M-2 birch stock with serial number "4240331" and "Test M-1 M-2" stamped in sling well with "SA" stamped along barrel channel and oval oiler hole. Unmarked four rivet top wood. Comes with 15 round "SP" marked clip. CONDITION: 90% arsenal finish remaining with light operation marks and dings. Wood has oil soaked appearance with light handling marks. Excellent bore with ME of 2 and good mechanics. An interesting piece that is need of more research. DLM
