Colt Police Positive Special double action revolver with box. Made 1935. Left side of the barrel is marked "POLICE/POSITIVE .38 SPECIAL". Patent dates and company address in 2 lines on the top of the barrel. "VP" proof on the top left of the trigger guard, with a rampant Colt pony on the left side of the frame. Matching serials on the frame and crane. 6 shot fluted cylinder. Round steel barrel with blade front sight and u-notch frame rear. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Checkered blued trigger, with a polished hammer. Factory checkered wood grips with silver medallions. Includes factory brown flat board box. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its original finish, with some light edge wear and handling marks. Grips are excellent. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Sharp timing and lockup. Light drag lines on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. Box is fair, with a large chunk of the back edge missing. Light edge wear as well. JWA
