Manufactured 1917. Half moon front sight, U notch rear sight. Left side with 2 line 2 block patent and address information with encircled Pony at rear. Right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". Heavily polished barrel with "F MB" on right lug and "P" on left lug. Checkered spurred hammer, mill relief cut slide release, safety, magazine release. Long milled trigger. Short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Ivory grips with inset Colt Custom medallions. Gun has been engraved in near full coverage by Jeff Flannery in acanthus florals, accented with crosshatching and punch dots. Starbursts are also used to accent rounds, and gold wire has also been inlaid. CONDITION: Very good as engraved by Jeff and subsequently reblued with some softening to legends. Some extremely minor marks from handling and storage since embellishment. Action works when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong and some light frosting. Grips are very good with some handling marks and a few of the black lines ivory picks up over time. Accompanied by a certificate from Jeff identifying this gun by serial number. EW
