Manufactured in 1856 in standard .31 caliber. It features a 4" blued octagon barrel with 2-line New York address, brass bead front sight, 5-shot percussion cylinder with stage coach scene, case hardened frame. Brass grip straps, small brass trigger guard, and smooth walnut grips. CONDITION: Very good. Portions of thinning factory applied blued finish are retained on barrel, especially, in protected area under loading lever, with balance a gray/brown patina. Traces of case colors visible, although a coat of clear coat has been added to these components. Metal components also have some scattered freckles and handling marks. Brass bright, but beginning to mellow. Grips good with some scattered impressions and finish loss at base. Fine bore and mechanics. Full or partial serial numbers observed on frame, barrel assembly, cylinder, cylinder arbor, trigger guard, back strap, and wedge. BAS
