Colt Diamondback double action revolver. Made 1978. Left side of the barrel is marked "DIAMONDBACK/.22 LONG RIFLE", with the company address on the right side of the barrel. "VP" proof marked on the top left of the hand guard. Rampant Colt pony on the left side of the frame. Round steel barrel with full vent rib. Ramped blade front sight and adjustable u-notch rear. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Spurred hammer, still in the white. Factory lacquered wood grips with fine diamond checkering and Colt gold medallions. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its original finish, with light wear and handling marks. Grips are excellent. Shiny bore with sharp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Sharp lockup and timing. Light drag lines on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. JWA
