High conditioned and manufactured in 1938. 1st generation Colt Single Action Army with a blue 5 - 1/2" barrel with ejector rod and housing. Front sight is a black powder sight and is original to the gun. Blue 6 shot fluted cylinder with blue grip straps and trigger guard. Case colored frame. Carved ivory grips with a bulls head motif on the right grip and a silver Colt medallion on the left grip. The grips are marked on the inside. The left grip is marked "R.U." and the right grip is marked "R.U. / 1-25-40". They fit the gun superbly. This gun come is a French fitted Walnut case. Accompanied by a notarized letter from Scott Phelps Urling, recounting some history of the pistol passing through his family, and the information on the case maker. CONDITION: Gun retains most of the original factory applied blue with just a hint of muzzle wear. Strong and vivid case color on the frame. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Grips are mint and show some mellowing from age. Case is a modern case with a blue felt interior and is mint. REW
