European side by side external hammer shotgun, possibly German in origin, and circa the 1870s. Exquisite Damascus barrels with textured pattern rib and gold bands at breech. Rounded game scene engraved action with back action engraved locks, hammers and top lever. Engraved "S" shaped triggerguard with partial horn grip. Walnut checkered straight grip stock with hard rubber "Widow's Peak" buttplate and shaded area with pin marks from a possible owner's shield. Walnut full covered splinter forearm with latch release. CONDITION: Metal worn to a silvery patina with sharp engraving. Wood has traces of original varnish with handling marks and dings. Lightly pitted bores with good mechanics. DLM
