A 1959 12 gauge game shotgun with 2 sets of blued round steel barrels. Barrel lengths are 26" and 28". Chambers on both are 2 - 3/4". Both barrels have flat ventilated matte ribs with mid bead sights. The 28" barrel has a round steel front bead and the 26" has a round red front bead sight. Choke on 28" barrel is Modified as barrel is stamped "Mod" on left near breech. Choke on 26" barrel is Winchester Skeet 1 as barrel is stamped "WS1" on left near breech. The blued receiver is built with a red line cross bolt safe and a sand blasted top. The nice reddish brown feather crotched stock has a 2 panel pistol hand grip with blued steel grip cap and finished with a black checkered "WINCHESTER" plastic butt plate. Gun lives in a Browning leather take down 2 barrel case. Howard Hawks’ collection piece with notarized letter of provenance included from Howard’s granddaughter Kate Hawks, daughter of his son Peter Hawks. Also, Trigger Hill Trading Post letter documenting inclusion of this serial number 1702152 as part of the Howard Hawks’ collection by his other son David Hawks. Biography included of Howard Winchester Hawks – an American film director, producer and screenwriter of the classic Hollywood era. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels both retain 98% blue. Bores are bright. Action operates smoothly. Stock and forends are very good. Some light handling marks can be found on side of action, barrels and stock/forends. Overall very good. CP
