Lot consists of (A) P1912 USMC Service hat contained in original box. The hat features the characteristics of a genuine P1912 hat which include a 3" brim folded over with 2 rows of stitching and 3 vents in the crown, no rear vent. The EGA was attached to the front vent for both officers and enlisted. The hat retains its original leather sweatband and is marked a size 7 - 1/2". Overall very clean with a few slight blemishes. CONDITION: Excellent. (B) World War II era USMC campaign hat. This hat is thicker in density and has a non stitched brim with 4 vents in the crown. The hat is named to "Thomas J Duffy", dated "APR 25, 1912", and marked as a size 7 - 1/8". under the sweatband. The leather sweatband shows some stains from wear but remains supple with some separation in the stitching. One significant stain on the front brim. CONDITION: Very good. (C) USMC campaign hat stamped by the USMC Quartermaster Depot dated "1917-1918". The hat features 2 rows of stitching on the brim and 3 vents in the crown, along with grommets on the brim for a chinstrap which was regulated from 1916-1920. Complete with leather sweatband that is cracked in several areas and is marked size 7 - 1/4". Clean overall. CONDITION: Very Good. (D) World War I USMC campaign hat. The hat features five rows of stitching on the brim and four vents in the crown along with grommets on the brim for a chinstrap. The hat is marked under the leather sweatband "Ferry Hat MFG. Co. / Contract No. 219-N / New York" and there is also a USMC tag under the sweatband. 219-N is a late war manufacturing number for Ferry Hat Co. Sweatband has some leather loss, but remains supple. Hat exhibits a few holes and blemishes. CONDITION: Good. JLD
