Lot consists of: (A) USMC M1875 Kepi with correct eagle chinstrap buttons and EGA. These kepis were worn by Marines from the 1870s-1890s and are very hard to find complete. The leather chinstrap exhibits various cracks but remains in one piece. The brim exhibits several scratches and but the stitching remains tight. Slight oxidation on the EGA. The interior contains the original maker label which is now illegible. The leather sweatband has mostly separated from the kepi with about 25% still attached. There are a few moth nips but the kepi is clean overall. CONDITION: Very good. (B) Pattern 1904 Enlisted Man's blue cap with chinstrap and trenched Pattern 1892 EGA. The leather chinstrap exhibits various cracks but remains in 1 piece. The brim exhibits several scratches and but the stitching remains tight. The leather sweatband remains attached with slight separation but exhibits various holes and rips while remaining pliable. The initials "J.A.S" are written on the sweatband. There are a few moth nips but the cap is clean overall. CONDITION: Very good. JLD
