Lot consists of: (A) World War I M1917 Knife with original scabbard. Triangular shaped blade with 3 significant lines on each side from being removed from scabbard. Tip is dulled and there is evidence of sharpening. Wood gripped with finger grooves and D guard with 7 pyramid shaped projections sticking out of the of the D guard. Top of the guard is marked "U.S. / L.F.&C. / 1917". The knife is complete with its iron and green painted leather scabbard that displays the faint markings "JEWELL 1918". CONDITION: Very good. (B) World War I Model 1917 Bolo Knife, complete with original metal scabbard. The knife is marked "Plumb / Phila / 1918" on the obverse ricasso and "U.S. / Mod 1917" on the reverse ricasso. The blade exhibits wear to the original dark finish is free of chips, nicks, or active rust. The wood grips show age and carrying wear, with typical indentations in the wood. The scabbard is marked "U.S. / L.F & C.-1918" and retains most of its original green paint. CONDITION: Very good. (C) World War I Model 1917 Bolo Knife with canvas scabbard. The knife is marked "Plumb / St. Louis on the obverse ricasso and "U.S.M.C" on the reverse ricasso. The blade exhibits wear and has lost most of its original dark finish. There are several scratches and areas with pitting. The wood grips show age and carrying wear, with typical indentations in the wood. The canvas scabbard is marked "Brauer Bros. / 1918" and was painted dark green. The knife has trouble fitting into the scabbard. CONDITION: Fair. JLD
