Third Reich SA/SS gorget made from what appears to be nickel plated brass with age patina, and has been moderately cleaned, exhibiting scattered marks throughout. The separate "sunburst" plate presents the eagle and swastika, and is securely mounted to the gorget. Each upper corner has a nickel plated metal button. On the rear are the 2 metal hooks used to secure the gorget to the uniform. The original black felt backing is intact with light wear, and a large metal button with the "RZM" logo is originally mounted. Hooks and button exhibit moderate patina. This gorget is complete with its original nickel plated chain, made from closely formed wire links, with no visible damage. Consignor included a four-page document in German which presents photos of this gorget and a history, as well as era photos of this style of gorget being worn. CONDITION: Overall excellent. WEZ
