Large lot of World War II era US Marine Corps ephemera. The lot includes a collection of patriotic matchbooks from World War II that depict pinup girls, patriotic slogans, and vessels. Some of the notable matchbooks include the USS Texas, USS Mississippi, USS Missouri, USS Wisconsin, USS Halfbeak, and the USS Juneaum, which is best know for the Sullivan brothers who were all killed in action when the ship was sunk by the Japanese during the battle for Guadalcanal. There are also several USMC rank and award pins, sweetheart pins, belt buckles, buttons, and novelties including packs of World War II era condoms. The lot also includes several photographs from the pre-World War I through World War II. The subject matter mostly includes US Marines and Navy Sailors in parade, at rest, portrait photos, ships including the USS Texas, and more. There are also 2 photos of German soldiers during World War II. Some pieces exhibit wear that is typical of old paper. CONDITION: Good-Excellent. JLD
